Tom Pesaturo
Prior to forming Exceeda Consulting, Tom had over 20 years of lean operations experience with wide-ranging experience across all levels of operational responsibility in the United States, Europe and Central America. Tom began his lean journey as an Operations Manager at an international electrical component manufacturer leading a turnaround of the business using lean tools and techniques in the United States and Central America. He furthered his lean acumen with Alcoa while leading one of their medical packaging facilities and working on lean implementations throughout the United States; and as Vice President of Operations with an international packaging company driving improvement through the use of lean. As a principal at Exceeda, Tom has continued to share his knowledge and implement Lean at various companies in the manufacturing, wholesale, distribution, and service industries. Tom holds a degree in Business Management, Electrical Engineering Technology and is a Six-Sigma Black Belt.
Carlos Fukamizu
Carlos is a Toyota trained production engineer and Lean Sensei with over 20 years of lean experience. He became an expert in lean after several years of intense personal coaching and working directly with Toyota sensei's in Toyota Motors Kamigo (Japan) and Toyota Motors SBC Brazil where he worked for many years. Carlos is experienced in implementing major change initiatives with a proven track record in widely diverse environments. He has international experience leading hundreds of Kaizen events and directing organization wide Lean deployments. Carlos is highly skilled and knowledgeable in all lean tools and techniques and especially enjoys working with clients on Muda (waste) Reduction, Kaizen, Visual Workplace, 5S+1, Kanban implementations and problem solving in the workplace. He has several specialized courses from Japanese and American institutions and speaks fluent Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish and English.
John Shannon
John has lead multiple lean implementations in a variety of roles. He has P&L experience and a wide mix of corporate and plant roles, including time as President and General Manager of a corporate subsidiary. His first exposure to a culture of excellence came in the Navy and his first in depth exposure to lean came while leading a transformation as a plant manager. John has won awards inside and outside Alcoa for operational excellence and performance improvement. His product experiences include plastic food packaging, bottle caps, precision mold fabrication, product assembly, aerospace and industrial gas turbine cast parts, and porcelain and epoxy coated steel storage tanks. John has particular expertise in problem solving and process control and the human systems required to support them.
John is a veteran of the US Navy and holds a BS in Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology, an MBA in Operations from Rochester Institute of Technology, and an MS in Management and Leadership from Antioch University of Seattle.
Dave Patrick
Dave is a lean/six-sigma specialist who leads lean cultural transformations that consistently translate to clear, bottom line performance results. He has over 15 years experience implementing all facets of lean. He began his lean journey as one of the original lean consultants for Alcoa where he deployed lean best practice solutions at over 15 Alcoa facilities around the US. He held the position of Business Systems Manager implementing lean for a $1.2 Billion operation which was recognized by Alcoa as obtaining the best financial improvement of any plant worldwide.
With roots based deeply in the Toyota Production System, Dave is adept at identifying key strategies and linking them to the customer’s environment to achieve dramatic performance improvements in both manufacuturing and office system deployments. Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree, MBA, and is a Six-Sigma Green Belt.
Diane Pesaturo
Diane is a Management and Information Technology professional with over 20 years of experience in the technology field. She has held the positions of Network Administrator, Systems Analyst, Project Manager and most recently as CIO of a $1 Billion corporation.
Diane has lead and supported technology project implementations at companies in diverse industries. These projects have focused on matching the best technology solutions to the needs of the business, ultimately supporting the overall strategy of the company. Diane's strength lies in her ability to blend lean methodology to application technology by defining and streamlining workflow that leads to improved bottom-line results. She believes in implementing systems that remove waste from the process and improve value from the customer perspective; not technology for technology's sake. Diane holds a Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems, is a certified Project Management Professional, certified business analyst and Six-Sigma Green Belt.
Karl Kern
Karl is a Lean Accounting and Financial Specialist. He held various accounting positions for small, middle market, and large companies within the manufacturing, financial services, retail, and technology industries. By using continuous improvement and root cause analysis he established a reputation as an effective problem solver who created and implemented measures that increased revenue, decreased expenses, and improved efficiency. Karl also teaches part-time at three colleges: Curry College, Fisher College, and Rhode Island College. He teaches accounting, economics, and finance and his success is due in large part to his use of lean thinking methodologies. In addition Karl sits on the board of directors of the Southern New England Entrepreneurs Forum (SNEEF). His passion for lean led to organizing events that discussed Lean Thinking for Entrepreneurs and Bootstrapping. Karl has a BBA degree in Accounting and an MBA degree with a concentration in Finance.
Jeff Swoyer
Jeff is a human resource executive that has directed the human resources function as a strategic partner in five world class global companies. He has held the position of Vice-President for Regal-Beloit Corporation, a $1.5 Billion international manufacturer of electric motors and industrial equipment with operations in the US, Mexico, India and China. Most recently Jeff was Chief Human Resources officer for Portola Packaging, a privately held plastics closures and packaging company with operations around the globe. He has leveraged talent management strategies to significantly improve business performance.
Prior to his last two assignments, Jeff spent 22 years with Alcoa and predecessor companies. While there, Jeff was extensively mentored in lean methodology as an internal consultant for Alcoa's Lean Consulting Group. He has years of experience deploying lean manufacturing methodology throughout various Alcoa business units. Jeff enjoys managing the cultural shift that is critical to success in lean deployments. He is highly skilled in change management, organizational design, dispute resolutions, employee relations, training and leadership standardized work. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts degree.
